Plastics are widely used in different types of business operations and there is a great need for sustainable use and materials recycling, to benefit society and industry alike. The RISE test facility in Mölndal offers both expertise and equipment for developing and testing new methods for repurposing plastic in new Products.
We face many challenges, with environmental goals to fulfil and the needs and demands of industry for cost-effective secondary plastic raw material to be met. Fortunately, good ideas and solutions abound. Members can participate in seminars to share knowledge. Business and academia meet to discuss various issues, exchange experiences and identify opportunities. This often leads to new partnerships and joint projects.
We offer support in sustainability issues, technical issues concerning plastic materials, design, recycling methods and analysis methods. We also conduct sustainability analyses and value flow analyses, as well as help out with legislation and education in these areas.
Our test facility boasts a wide range of equipment. For plastics processing, upgrading and prototyping we have equipment for plastic granulation, extrusion and compounding, pelleting and injection moulding equipment, and prototyping tools. We have several pieces of equipment for material characterisation and chemical analysis, as well as for aging and longevity studies.
We mainly turn to plastic and manufacturing companies, product owners, the polymer industry, recycling companies, authorities and decision makers.
